Self-adhesive labels PET and PVC difference

When it comes to self-adhesive labels, everyone must first think of PET and PVC, but how much do you know about labels made of PET and PVC? Today, let me show you:

Difference 1
The raw material shape is different:
PVC, that is, polyvinyl chloride, the original color is slightly yellowish transparent and glossy.
PET, that is, polyethylene terephthalate, has very good clarity.
The strength of the raw materials is different:
PVC, that is, polyvinyl chloride, has better clarity than high-pressure polyethylene and polystyrene, but worse than polyethylene. It is divided into soft and hard polyvinyl chloride according to the different amount of modifiers used. The soft product is soft and tough, and feels sticky. The strength of the hard product is higher than that of low-density high-pressure polyethylene, but lower than that of polypropylene, and whitening will occur at the bend.
PET, that is, polyethylene terephthalate, has better compressive strength and ductility than polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride, and is not easy to break.
The uses of raw materials are different:
PVC, that is, the common products of polyvinyl chloride: boards, pipes, shoe soles, toys, windows and doors, cable skins, stationery, etc.
PET, that is, the common application of polyethylene terephthalate: it is often seen in product labels that require high waterproof, alkali-resistant, chemical-resistant, heat-resistant and other properties, used for bathroom appliances, skin care products, various household appliances, mechanical products, etc.

Difference 2
1. PVC is not recyclable, but PET is recyclable;
2. If you use PET bottles and PVC labels, you need to remove the PVC labels when recycling the bottles; while PET labels do not need to be removed;
3. PET has excellent dielectric properties, with good anti-fouling, anti-scratch, high temperature resistance and other properties;
4. PVC and PET have similar properties. It has better flexibility and softer feel than PET, but PVC has poorer degradability and has a negative impact on environmental protection.
5. PET usually has white PET or transparent PET, and can also be made into a gold or silver surface, which looks very beautiful.
6. PET labels have good mechanical properties, strong impact resistance, oil resistance and fat resistance. High and low temperature resistance is also stronger than many plastics, so the kitchen stickers we often see are made of PET + aluminum foil.
7. PET material has good transparency and good softness below 25u. It is mainly used for bicycle and motorcycle decals and some electrical product description labels. White PET is mainly used in mobile phone battery labels, etc.
8. The main difference from PVC is that it has poor thermal stability and is easily aged by light, heat and oxygen. In addition, many toxic additives are usually added during the PVC manufacturing process.

Difference 3
PET: hard, tough, high strength, bright surface, environmentally friendly, transparent and multi-color sheets. The disadvantage is that PET high-frequency heat bonding is more difficult and the price is much more expensive than PVC. This material is often replaced by PVC by users who require good products and environmental protection. PET materials are generally used to make plastic bottles, food packaging boxes, etc.
PVC: A commonly used blister material that is soft, tough, and plastic. It can be made transparent and in various colors. Transparent PVC is often used to package electronics, cosmetics, toys, gifts, and other products.
