(I) Consider application requirements

For example, active RFID tags have a long communication distance, but they are large and costly, and are suitable for scenarios that require long-distance identification and tracking, such as logistics tracking and vehicle management. Passive tags are small and low-cost. Although their communication distance is limited, they may be a more economical choice for scenarios such as inventory management and access control systems. Self-adhesive labels have many advantages, but their prices are relatively high. For some cost-sensitive companies, it is necessary to comprehensively consider whether their functions in product packaging, logistics, inventory management, etc. are worth the price. At the same time, the service life and maintenance cost of the label should also be considered. Although some high-quality labels are more expensive, they can reduce the frequency of label replacement due to their better durability and stability, thereby reducing overall costs. For example, in the automotive manufacturing industry, although the price of using PET labels is relatively high, their durability, waterproofness, oil resistance, and wear resistance can ensure that the labels remain clear and intact throughout the life cycle of the car, which may be more cost-effective in the long run.
(III) Conduct actual testing
In order to ensure that the selected labels can meet actual needs, it is very necessary to conduct actual testing. The use of labels can be simulated in actual scenarios to test their performance. For example, in the logistics industry, you can select some goods and affix different types of logistics labels, and then observe the reading distance, accuracy, and stability of the labels in actual transportation, warehousing, and other links. If anti-metal tags are used in industrial scenarios, you can attach the tags to metal equipment to test their performance under different environmental conditions (such as temperature, humidity, electromagnetic interference, etc.). For some labels that need to be used in special environments, such as near industrial furnaces in high-temperature environments, special-purpose anti-metal tags can be selected for actual testing to see if they can work normally at temperatures as high as 200°C or even higher.
